Camping Stoves & Fuel
Rules for alcohol-based camping stoves, fuel quantities and safe use.
Only permitted camping stoves may be used, and only where they can be used safely.
- Alcohol-based camping stoves, such as Trangia-style stoves, may be permitted for personal use within the campsite.
- Gas stoves, solid fuel stoves and other cooking appliances are not permitted unless the event team confirms otherwise in writing.
- Fuel must be in its original retail container, clearly labelled and no larger than 1 litre.
- Decanted, unlabelled or improvised fuel containers are not permitted.
- Stoves must only be used in open, well-ventilated areas away from tents and flammable materials.
- Refuelling must not take place while the stove is lit or still hot.
- Open fires and fire pits are strictly prohibited.
Event staff and security reserve the right to stop the use of any stove, fuel or equipment where it is considered unsafe or unsuitable.
